About me

In order to give you some idea about myself, the guy of "ToodelooKangaroo", I noted down the most important things about me in here.

Vita

In the early morning hours of the 10th of July 1982 I saw the first light on this planet in the capital of my rural district, Tirschenreuth in northern Bavaria. Raised in the close city of Mitterteich, which had a booming porcelain and glass industry at that time, where I spent my childhood and youth until the beginning of the new century when I left to Regensburg to study mechanical engineering. Over course of the studies the fascination for power, heavy industry and the thought to make our world a better place became stronger and stronger. Choosing my main topic in my studies I decided to go for power engineering. Before finalising my studies I had the chance to sign my first working contract which brought me to the power industry. I "stranded" abroad and started my first little steps as commissioning engineer for coal-fired power plants. In conjunction with the finalisation of my studies I received also my first DSLR which should be one of my major parts of my travel gear for the forthcoming years. Years passed by since then, bodies and lenses did increase as well as the amount of pictures, taken and collected - some better some worse. Today I do not work in the field anymore, instead I have a rather normal office job with all the ups and downs of a normal life. This gives me finally the chance to spend a bit more of my freetime for photography, working with pictures and of course sharing them with others. The more I can share these pictures and memories with people, the more I enjoy them and feel happy about.

Freetime

Besides the fact that I am interested in technical things I am interested in new technologies and of course in photography. To find balanced in my life I do some sport like cycling, running, swimming and some other things. For bringing joy to body and soul I travel to new countries to open my mind (this is where most of my pictures have been taken) and try to cook some great food back home. Another important point in life is of course my partner, friends and family, which I try to see as often as possible.

Future

Well, most of this part is still in front of me, but I have some plans on my agenda I would love to realize. I only know that I still have some great and beautiful things in front of me, and that I am really looking forward to that. My current travel plans include walking the pilgrims path of St. Jacob in Northern Spain as well as a trip to Iceland. Recently invested in a proper dive-camera, as I want to take more underwater-pictures which I can then hopefully show sometime in the near future.
